Inter Milan are reportedly considering a January move for Manchester United midfielder Nemanja Matic.
The Serbian is out of favour at Old Trafford at present, playing just 160 minutes of Premier League football across three appearances so far this season.
Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer appears to favour Scott McTominay in the role instead, as Matic is now 31 years old and seemingly past his best.
However, Nerazzurri head coach Antonio Conte has identified defensive midfield as an area of weakness in the squad and has highlighted Matic, with whom he worked at Chelsea, as a possible solution, according to Sky Sports News.
Conte appears to value the holding midfielder's qualities and, having got the best out of him at Stamford Bridge, believes that he can do the same again at San Siro.
