Jadon Sancho reportedly wants to leave Manchester United during this summer's transfer window and would not be interested in a return even if Erik ten Hag lost his job as head coach.
The England international had a high-profile falling-out with Ten Hag in the first half of the 2023-24 campaign.
Sancho was a notable absentee from the squad against Arsenal in the Premier League at the start of September, and Ten Hag claimed that the ex-Manchester City youngster had been left out due to some poor performances on the training ground.
The forward took to social media to insist that was not the case, claiming that he had been made "a scapegoat", and having refused to apologise for his outburst, the 24-year-old was removed from the first-team picture.
Sancho returned to Borussia Dortmund on loan in January, and he has helped the Bundesliga giants reach the final of this season's Champions League.
Jadon Sancho 'wants to leave Man United this summer'
The attacker has made 18 appearances for BVB since his return, scoring three times and registering three assists, and the German club are keen to keep him this summer.
Dortmund's sporting director Sebastian Kehl has said that the Champions League finalists will "try everything" to re-sign the Englishman on a permanent basis.
"We will try everything to keep Jadon Sancho here. But Manchester United also sees how well he is playing at the moment. Maybe they also want to sell him for profit or bring him back. We will see," Kehl told Die Welt when asked about the forward.
Man United are not thought to be willing to let him leave in a cut-price deal, and Sancho still has another two years left to run on his contract at Old Trafford.
Erik ten Hag 'set to be sacked this summer'
There have been claims that the forward could return to his parent club for the 2024-25 campaign if Ten Hag is sacked as head coach.
The Red Devils are allegedly planning to remove Ten Hag from his position once the current season has finished, with Thomas Tuchel potentially arriving from Bayern Munich as his replacement.
However, according to talkSPORT, Sancho has made it clear that he does not want to play for Man United again even if there is a change of manager this summer.
The forward has scored 12 goals and registered six assists in 82 appearances for the 20-time English champions since his arrival from Dortmund in the summer of 2021.
Sancho initially represented Dortmund between 2017 and 2021 before moving to Old Trafford in a big-money deal, but he has failed to show his best form in English football. body check tags ::
