Fulham manager Martin Jol has ruled out the possibility of signing Dimitar Berbatov from Manchester United this summer.
Speculation yesterday linked the Bulgarian, who is expected to leave United at the end of the season, with a move to Craven Cottage.
However, Jol believes that Berbatov would have no intention of joining the Whites.
"Berbatov is a player who I don't think would go to a side who are not as good as Manchester United because he is a top, top player," Jol told reporters. "Even when he was not a regular, I think there was a spell where he was the top scorer in England with over 20 goals.
"Any good player would do well here and he would score a lot of goals but he is a confidence player.
"He is so talented and gifted, that it tells you about the quality in the Manchester United squad."
Jol brought Berbatov to the Premier League when he was manager of Tottenham Hotspur in 2006.
