Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has reportedly made 'several calls' to RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner in a bid to convince the Germany international to move to Anfield.
Werner has been in impressive form for Leipzig during the 2019-20 campaign, scoring 27 times and contributing 12 assists in 37 appearances in all competitions.
The 24-year-old continues to be linked with a switch to the European champions, although it was recently reported that he might have to wait until next summer to secure a move due to the coronavirus outbreak.
According to Le 10 Sport, Klopp views Werner as a priority in the transfer market, and the Liverpool boss is in 'regular contact' with the German over a potential deal.
Manchester United and Chelsea have also been credited with an interest, but the striker is allegedly only prepared to leave Leipzig for Liverpool.
Werner has scored 21 times in 26 Bundesliga appearances this season.
