Italian champions Juventus have reportedly dropped their pursuit of Robin van Persie and will now turn their attention to Edison Cavani.
The Serie A outfit were thought to be interested in bringing the Dutchman to the club, however the unbeaten league winners are not keen to get into a bidding war for the Arsenal striker, having learnt of both Manchester United and Manchester City's desire to sign the player, according to The Metro.
Juventus sporting director Fabio Paratici feels that Van Persie will move to either of the Manchester clubs if he opts for the Emirates exit door.
Van Persie, who won the PFA Player of the Year and the Football Writers' Player of the Year awards this season, has just one year remaining on his current Gunners deal.
The Old Lady will now try to sign Napoli striker Cavani instead. The Uruguayan is thought to be preferred to Van Persie due to his lower wage demands.
