Juventus are reportedly leading the race to sign Chelsea winger Christian Pulisic during the summer transfer window.
When Pulisic left Borussia Dortmund for Stamford Bridge in a £58m deal in 2019, it was regarded as a significant coup for the Premier League giants.
The United States international has since gone on to contribute 26 goals and 21 assists from 145 appearances in all competitions, most notably during Chelsea's 2020-21 Champions League-winning campaign.
However, injuries and failure to convert big chances in high-profile fixtures have weakened Pulisic's reputation among the club's fanbase and with a number of different managers.
Of his 29 appearances in the Premier League and Champions League during 2022-23, just nine have come from the starting lineup, and he has accumulated just 925 minutes in those competitions.
Pulisic now has just over 12 months remaining on his contract, and there is no prospect of any of the relevant parties pushing for a renewal over the summer.
With that in mind, the 24-year-old will be allowed to leave the West Londoners over the coming weeks, with there not expected to be a shortage of suitors.
Nevertheless, according to ESPN, it is Juventus who are viewed to be the frontrunners for his signature.
The report claims that Chelsea are prepared to accept a £20m fee for the versatile attacker, less than half of what they paid for his services four years ago.
While Juventus will not meet the wages that he earns at Chelsea, it is suggested that a deal is more likely to be reached than not.
The Italian giants face somewhat of a rebuilding phase this summer with points deductions leading to them missing out on the Champions League for 2023-24.
Replacements are required for Angel Di Maria and Juan Cuadrado, while there are doubts over the long-term future of frontman Dusan Vlahovic.
Manchester United, Newcastle United and Napoli are among the clubs who have reportedly also been notified of Pulisic's availability. body check tags ::
