Kylian Mbappe has turned down a big-money contract offer from Manchester United in favour of joining Real Madrid this summer, according to a report.

The 25-year-old has allegedly informed his current club Paris Saint-Germain that he will be leaving the Parc des Princes when his contract expires at the end of the season.

Mbappe has established himself as one of the world's best players during his six-and-a-half-year stay at PSG, for whom he is their all-time leading scorer with 244 goals in 292 appearances across all competitions.

The France international has once again been in fine form for Les Parisiens this term, scoring 32 goals in as many games in all tournaments including 21 strikes in 21 Ligue 1 matches.

However, following widespread reports of his decision to leave PSG this summer, Mbappe has been reduced to 93 minutes of action across his last two top-flight matches – coming on as a substitute for the final 28 minutes in a 2-0 win at Nantes before being withdrawn on the 65-minute mark in a 1-1 draw with Rennes last weekend.

After Mbappe's replacement Goncalo Ramos rescued a point for PSG with a 97th-minute equaliser against Rennes, head coach Luis Enrique explained his decision to substitute his No.7, stating that his side must "get used to not playing with Kylian".

It is widely regarded that Real Madrid are leading the race to sign Mbappe this summer, with La Liga president Javier Tebas recently claiming that the striker has a "99% chance" of sealing his desired switch to the Santiago Bernabeu.

Man United have also been credited with an interest in Mbappe following the arrival of minority shareholder Sir Jim Ratcliffe, and TEAMtalk claims that the Red Devils are the Premier League club who have been pushing the hardest to try and win the race for the Frenchman's signature.

The report adds that Ratcliffe views the potential arrival of Mbappe at Old Trafford as a 'major coup' and Man United would be willing to pay the striker a mouthwatering €500m (£428m) over a five-year contract, plus a signing-on bonus worth a whopping €200m (£171m).

However, Mbappe is said to have snubbed such an offer from the Red Devils – who currently sit sixth in the Premier League table and eight points behind the top four – as he is prioritising a summer switch to La Liga leaders Real Madrid.

The likes of Arsenal, Manchester City and Liverpool have also been linked with a potential swoop for Mbappe, but Los Blancos is believed to be the striker's preferred destination and has been for some time.

Previous reports have suggested that Mbappe has already agreed a five-year contract with Real Madrid and could be given the No.10 shirt if Luka Modric departs the club upon the expiration of his deal this summer.

PSG have allegedly earmarked Man United's Marcus Rashford as a potential replacements for Mbappe, but they are set to prioritise moves for Napoli's Victor Osimhen and AC Milan's Rafael Leao this summer. body check tags ::
