Lautaro Martinez's agent has revealed that discussions have started over a potential new deal at Inter Milan.
The 26-year-old has been in impressive form for his Italian club during the 2023-24 campaign, scoring 14 goals and registering two assists in 16 appearances in all competitions.
The World Cup winner moved to San Siro from Racing Club in July 2018, and he has managed 116 goals and 38 assists in 254 appearances for the Italian giants in total.
Martinez has another three years left to run on his deal with Inter, but there has recently been speculation surrounding a potential extension.
The Argentina international is thought to be admired by some of the biggest clubs in world football, and Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal are all expected to sign a new striker next year.
Barcelona are also seeking a long-term replacement for Robert Lewandowski, while Real Madrid are admirers of Martinez and could potentially target him if they are unable to lure Erling Haaland away from Manchester City.
However, despite the number of clubs that could possibly be interested in the South American next year, Martinez's agent has insisted that his client is only thinking about staying at Inter.
"We are in talks to receive an offer that can satisfy Lautaro," Alejandro Camano told Tuttosport. "It's not easy because it's not going to happen from one day to another.
"But we are working toward a positive agreement. I don't think there will be problems. We are on good terms with Inter and preliminary talks have already begun."
Martinez was linked with a lucrative move to Saudi Arabia over the summer, and his agent has confirmed that an offer from the Saudi Pro League was turned down.
"Absolutely and it's not strange for somebody who has a clear life project with a strong sense of belonging," Camano added.
"Lautaro feels well and he feels appreciated by the club. Don't forget all his successes with the Nerazzurri. We are talking about the Champions League runners-up.
"It is an honour to represent him, he deserves a 10 rating for the person he is and the family he has. We are talking about one of the top three strikers worldwide."
Inter are currently top of the Serie A table, two points ahead of second-placed Juventus, while they have already booked their spot in the knockout round of the Champions League with two games to spare. body check tags ::
