Lazio sporting director Igli Tare has admitted that star midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic could leave the club this summer amid interest from Manchester United.
The 28-year-old is regarded as a club legend at Stadio Olimpico having established himself as an integral first-team player for the Biancocelesti over the last eight seasons.
Milinkovic-Savic, primarily a box-to-box midfielder, has scored 67 goals and registered 59 assists in 339 appearances for Lazio across all competitions, including nine goals and eight assists in 45 games this season.
The Serbian is yet to win a Serie A title during his time in Italy, but he has lifted the 2018-19 Coppa Italia and the Supercoppa Italia twice in 2017 and 2019.
Milinkovic-Savic will see his Lazio contract expire at the end of next season, and speculation over his long-term future at the club has increased ahead of the summer transfer window.
A recent report claims that Man United are weighing up the prospect of reigniting their interest in Milinkovic-Savic this summer, with Erik ten Hag in the market for a new midfielder.
The likes of Arsenal, Liverpool, Newcastle United and West Ham United have also been credited with an interest in the 41-cap Serbia international.
Lazio president Lazio president Claudio Lotito stated towards the end of last year that the Italian club would not look to sell Milinkovic-Savic.
Speaking to Il Messaggero, Lotito said: "I will not sell Milinkovic-Savic, I will offer him a renewal. I reiterate, he is now worth €120m (£105m), and every month that passes, the price goes up."
However, sporting director Tare has since conceded that Lazio may be forced to cash in on their star player ahead of the 2023-24 campaign.
Speaking to Sky Sport Italia, as quoted by the Manchester Evening News, Tare said: "For the good of everyone, we will sit around a table and clarify this.
"What I say for me is also valid for him, he has a strong bond with Lazio, he admires and respects the club and coach. Anything can happen, including a sale to another club."
Milinkovic-Savic could potentially play his final home game for Lazio when they play host to Cremonense at Stadio Olimpico on Sunday. body check tags ::
