Leeds United owner Andrea Radrizzani has confirmed that Manchester United winger Daniel James is the club's top transfer target for deadline day, but admits that a deal is unlikely to go through.
The big-spending Championship winners have been linked with a £25m move for James as they look to further bolster their squad following an encouraging start to life back in the Premier League.
The 22-year-old has not featured in either of Man United's last two Premier League squads, but Radrizzani still expects him to stay at Old Trafford.
"Dan [James] is on top of our list but seems he will be staying at Man Utd. There is nothing," he told Stretty News.
Any deal for James would likely take Leeds' summer spending over the £100m mark since winning promotion.
Marcelo Bielsa's side have already broken their club record by signing Rodrigo Moreno for £27m, while Robin Koch and Diego Llorente are among their other big-money arrivals.
