Liverpool, Chelsea and Newcastle United are all reportedly interested in signing Inter Milan midfielder Nicolo Barella during next summer's transfer window.
Barella's future has been the subject of speculation over the last couple of years, with a number of major European clubs said to have shown an interest in him.
The 26-year-old initially represented Inter on loan during the 2019-20 campaign before completing a permanent move to the San Siro giants from Cagliari.
Barella has now featured on 210 occasions for the club, scoring 21 goals and registering 47 assists in the process.
The Italy international has again been a vital player for Inter during the 2023-24 campaign, making 23 appearances in all competitions, scoring once and providing three assists in the process.
According to Fichajes, Inter are currently in contract talks with Barella, with the Italian outfit keen to extend his current deal, which is due to expire in June 2026.
The report claims that Inter view signing him to an extension as a priority, but Liverpool, Chelsea and Newcastle are all hoping to lure him to the Premier League.
The Serie A side are believed to be willing to increase Barella's salary, but it is likely that he would be able to earn more money by moving to the Premier League.
Barella has scored once and provided three assists in 16 Serie A appearances this season, with Inter currently at the top of the table, four points clear of second-placed Juventus.
Meanwhile, the midfielder played six times in the group stage of the Champions League, with the Black and Blues through to the round of 16, where they will take on Atletico Madrid.
Barella has helped Inter win their last three Serie A matches, but he was a part of the side that suffered a 2-1 defeat to Bologna in the last-16 stage of the Italian Cup on Wednesday.
Manchester United have also previously been credited with an interest in the Italian, and midfield is seemingly an area where the Red Devils will be looking to strengthen in 2024.
Barella has won Serie A, two Coppa Italia crowns and two Italian Super Cups during his time at San Siro, while he also gained a runners-up medal in the Champions League last season. body check tags ::
