Liverpool have reportedly joined the race to sign Eder Militao from Porto.
Militao has been linked with a host of Europe's biggest clubs as a result of his performances for the Portuguese giants this season, with Barcelona, Roma, Borussia Dortmund and Manchester City all credited with an interest.
Manchester United are understood to be leading the race for the 20-year-old's signature, but The Express reports that Liverpool are now ready to rival the Red Devils in January.
Jurgen Klopp is looking to bolster his squad for the second half of the season as Liverpool - who currently sit six points clear at the top of the Premier League table - aim to land a first title since 1990.
Militao only signed a new deal with Porto in the summer, keeping him at the club until 2023, but it contains a release clause of around £42.5m.
Porto are eager to tie the youngster down to fresh terms in order to raise that clause, but as things stand the Brazil international would be free to discuss a deal with other clubs should they meet the current release fee.
