Liverpool could reportedly move for Bayern Munich attacker Leroy Sane during the January transfer window.

There is currently ongoing speculation surrounding the Germany international's future, as his contract at Allianz Arena is due to expire in the summer of 2025.

Manchester City are said to be keen to bring the 27-year-old back to the Etihad Stadium, while Manchester United are also believed to be keeping a close eye on his future.

Liverpool have been credited with an interest, meanwhile, and according to journalist Ekrem Konur, the Reds are keen to secure his signature when the winter market opens for business.

Bayern are desperate to sign Sane to a new deal, but it remains to be seen whether personal terms can be agreed between the two parties, and he could potentially earn more money by moving back to English football.

Sane has been in strong form for the German champions during the 2023-24 campaign, scoring nine goals and registering seven assists in 19 appearances in all competitions.

The attacker has managed eight goals and six assists in 12 Bundesliga outings, while he has one goal and one assist in four appearances in the Champions League, with the Munich giants already through to the next round.

Sane made the move to Bayern from Man City in the summer of 2020, and he has represented the club on 152 occasions, scoring 47 goals and registering 44 assists in the process.

When asked about his future during the recent international break, the forward told reporters: "I haven't given it any thought. The club wants to have discussions but at the moment I want to concentrate on the season. Bayern will be my first point of contract, everything else will take care of itself."

Liverpool could be forced to replace Mohamed Salah next year, as the Egypt international is being heavily linked with a lucrative move to Saudi Arabia.

The Saudi Pro League were unable to sign Salah last summer despite their best attempts, but it is understood that he remains the leading target for senior officials.

Liverpool are well-stocked in the forward areas, with Diogo Jota, Darwin Nunez, Luis Diaz and Cody Gakpo also options for head coach Jurgen Klopp alongside Salah, who is the team's leading goalscorer this season with 12.

Jota has netted eight times, while Nunez has seven, with four of those coming in the Premier League.

Liverpool are also being linked with Kylian Mbappe, as the forward seemingly prepares to leave Paris Saint-Germain next summer, but it is understood that Real Madrid remain the favourites for his signature. body check tags ::
