Liverpool have supposedly joined Real Madrid and Manchester United in the race to sign much-coveted Rennes midfielder Eduardo Camavinga.
The 18-year-old burst onto the scene under Julien Stephan last year and remains a regular for Les Rouge et Noir, scoring one goal and assisting one more in 30 Ligue 1 appearances this season.
Camavinga's existing deal at Rennes expires at the end of the 2021-22 season, and he has reportedly decided that he will not extend his contract, so an intense bidding war for his services is now expected to commence this summer.
According to The Express, Liverpool have now identified the teenager as an ideal signing for the new campaign, as Georginio Wijnaldum's impending departure at the end of the season inches ever closer.
The report adds that Liverpool would have to fend off Madrid and Man United for Camavinga's signature, but Jurgen Klopp will hope to lure the France international to Anfield with the promise of regular first-team action - something he would not be guaranteed of at Old Trafford or the Bernabeu.
Chelsea are also thought to be interested in a deal for Camavinga, who scored his first goal on his first start for the French national team in October's 7-1 friendly thrashing of Ukraine. body check tags ::
