Manchester City are reportedly "confident" of landing Arsenal attacker Alexis Sanchez when the transfer window reopens in January.
The 28-year-old is in the final year of his current deal with the Gunners and on course to depart on a free at the end of the season, with a host of top clubs thought to be interested in his services.
In recent weeks it has been claimed that Arsenal are considering a swap deal between Sanchez and Paris Saint-Germain winger Julian Draxler, while the likes of AC Milan and Manchester United are also said to have lodged interest.
The Chilean is free to agree a pre-contract with a new club in January ahead of a switch next summer, but according to The Telegraph, City are hopeful of getting a cash deal over the line in January.
Pep Guardiola's side failed with a £60m bid for Sanchez in the final throes of the most recent transfer window as Arsenal failed to secure a replacement in time but are now optimistic that the Gunners will cash in, albeit for a fee that is "significantly less" than was offered under two months ago.
Sanchez has made more than 100 Premier League appearances for Arsenal since his £32m switch from Barcelona in 2014.
