Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has allegedly made contact with Bayer Leverkusen winger Leon Bailey regarding a summer transfer.
Earlier this week, Guardiola acknowledged that Leroy Sane would likely be leaving the Etihad Stadium after refusing to agree fresh terms with the Premier League giants.
That leaves City to identify potential replacements at a time when it is unclear whether they will be able to participate in next season's Champions League.
According to Foot Mercato, that has resulted in interest being registered in Bailey, who has struggled for regular action during the current campaign.
The 22-year-old, an alleged target of Manchester United, has made just 12 starts in the Bundesliga and Champions League, with a further 11 outings coming from the substitutes' bench.
Bailey's potential exit may be dependent on how Leverkusen choose to handle any offers made for Kai Havertz.
