Manchester City are reportedly interested in signing Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips and Brighton & Hove Albion left-back Marc Cucurella this summer.
The Citizens have already agreed deals to sign Erling Braut Haaland and Julian Alvarez, but chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak revealed on Monday that the club will look to make "a couple more" signings ahead of the 2022-23 campaign.
According to the Daily Telegraph, City view Leeds star Phillips as their primary midfield target to replace club captain Fernandinho, who will leave the club when his contract expires this summer.
The 26-year-old England international, who is yet to agree terms over extending his contract beyond June 2024, is believed to be open to a move away from Elland Road even though the Whites managed to avoid relegation from the Premier League.
The report adds that the Citizens have identified Cucurella as one of their main left-back targets, after the Spaniard enjoyed an impressive first season on the South Coast with Brighton.
Cucurella, 23, recently revealed that he would find it difficult to turn down a move to City if the opportunity was presented to him this summer, though the Seagulls have no plans to sell their 2021-22 Player of the Season unless their £45m valuation of the defender is met.
Phillips has also been strongly linked with City's rivals Manchester United, Aston Villa and Newcastle United, while both Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur have been credited with an interest in Cucurella. body check tags ::
