Crystal Palace's Marc Guehi is reportedly set to reject a new contract at Selhurst Park, amid interest from Manchester United and Arsenal.

The 23-year-old has stepped into the limelight this summer for England, with the defender replacing an injured Harry Maguire in Gareth Southgate's preferred XI.

Despite the Three Lions' struggles during Euro 2024 so far, Guehi has been a standout performer alongside fellow centre-back John Stones.

After starting three Group C matches and the round-of-16 clash with Slovakia, the Palace man was suspended for the quarter-final meeting against Switzerland due to his collection of two yellow cards.

Guehi was a first-choice option for Oliver Glasner's men in the Premier League during 2023-24, appearing in 25 top-flight matches, 23 of those coming from the start.

Man United, Arsenal handed boost in Guehi pursuit?

According to The Sun, Manchester United and Arsenal have both been handed a major boost in their pursuit of Crystal Palace's Guehi this summer.

The report claims that the England international has no intention of signing a new deal at Selhurst Park, where he has spent the last three campaigns.

It is understood that Guehi is willing to assess his options, with stellar performances over the past year catching the eye of some Premier League powerhouses.

Whilst Everton remain firm on their £80m asking price for Jarrad Branthwaite, Man United are said to be considering an alternative move for former Swansea City loanee Guehi.

Arsenal are also known to be interested in recruiting the ex-Chelsea defender, with the West Londoners set to receive 20% of the transfer fee that Palace earn off a future sale.

Glasner's troops are diminishing

Following the replacement of Roy Hodgson with former Eintracht Frankfurt boss Glasner early in 2024, Crystal Palace enjoyed a fruitful conclusion to last campaign.

A run of six victories from their last seven in the Premier League fired the Eagles to a 10th-placed finish, their best placement since the 2014-15 term.

There are suggestions that Palace could be serious contenders for European spots next season, meaning that it is imperative that they can keep hold of the majority of their star men.

With Vincent Kompany already luring Michael Olise to Bayern Munich, Guehi could be the latest Selhurst Park hero to depart the club during this window. body check tags ::
