Manchester United are reportedly set to battle Atletico Madrid for Roma attacker Paulo Dybala.
Following the expiration of his Juventus contract last summer, Dybala signed a three-year deal with Jose Mourinho's side.
The Argentine has quickly established himself as an important figure in Roma's side, scoring 12 goals and providing seven assists across his 24 competitive appearances this term.
Although he is under contract until June 2025, Dybala's long-term future at the club seems to be far from assured.
The 29-year-old reportedly has a €12m (£10.6m) release clause in his contract, which makes him an appealing proposition to many European clubs.
Man United are believed to be among those who are showing an interest in the Argentina international as they look to add to their forward line in the summer.
Wout Weghorst is expected to leave the club when his loan deal expires at the end of the season, and while Man United have been linked with the likes of Napoli's Victor Osimhen and Tottenham Hotspur's Harry Kane, they may be tempted to strengthen in the final third with the low-cost option of Dybala.
According to Fichajes, the Red Devils may have to fight off competition from Atletico, who are also considering a summer move.
Although Atletico bolstered their attacking options with the signing of Memphis Depay from Barcelona in the January transfer window, they are still looking to improve their squad.
The report claims that Inter Milan are also keen to recruit Dybala after they failed in their pursuit to sign him last summer.
Amid speculation over his future, Dybala recently insisted that he was focused on helping Roma qualify for the Champions League.
However, there is a belief that he could seek a move away from the Stadio Olimpico if they fail to finish in the top four.
Roma's Champions League aspirations received a setback on Tuesday, as they became the first team to lose to Cremonese in Serie A this season.
As a result of Tuesday's surprise defeat, fifth-placed Roma are one point adrift of their city rivals Lazio, who currently occupy fourth position.
The Giallorossi could also qualify for Europe's elite club competition if they manage to go all the way in the Europa League. body check tags ::
