Manchester United and Chelsea are reportedly locked in a battle to sign Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos.
Speculation last month claimed that the midfielder had instructed his agent to find him another club, having supposedly grown disillusioned with life at the Bernabeu.
According to Fichajes, that news alerted the Premier League pair, both of whom have held discussions with the 26-year-old's representative.
However, the report adds that the recent change of management from Rafael Benitez to Zinedine Zidane in Madrid may have caused Kroos to reconsider his decision to leave.
It has been suggested that United and their West London rivals are prepared to pay £40m for the Germany international.
