Manchester United are reportedly ready to drop their interest in Napoli centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly after learning how much it will cost to sign the Senegal international this summer.
Koulibaly has a release clause of £110m in his Napoli deal, and it is understood that the Italian giants will not consider offers of under £90m for the 27-year-old.
According to The Independent, the Red Devils are not prepared to pay anywhere near that amount and could therefore drop their interest to pursue other targets.
Leicester City's Harry Maguire has once again been linked with a move to Old Trafford, while the same report names Inter Milan's Milan Skriniar and Tottenham Hotspur's Toby Alderweireld as potential targets.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side are expected to prioritise the signing of a new centre-back this summer, with the likes of Chris Smalling, Phil Jones, Eric Bailly and Victor Lindelof all struggling to impress during the 2018-19 campaign.
Meanwhile, United are also said to be considering a double swoop for Lille attacker Nicolas Pepe and Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot.
