Manchester United are in talks with the representatives of Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot over personal terms, according to a report.

Manchester United are reportedly currently in discussions with Adrien Rabiot's camp, as the Red Devils look to come to an agreement with the Juventus midfielder over personal terms.

The 20-time English champions have been heavily linked with the France international over the last 24 hours, and it is understood that a fee, thought to be in the region of £15m, has already been agreed between the two clubs.

According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Man United are in talks with Rabiot's agent and mother, Veronique Rabiot, over the package that the midfielder would receive at Old Trafford.

Romano claims that there was a 'direct call' between Rabiot and Red Devils head coach Erik ten Hag on Monday to discuss a move to Manchester.

The 27-year-old has been with Juventus since 2019, moving to the Old Lady on a free transfer following the expiration of his contract at Paris Saint-Germain, and he has been a regular for the Italian giants.

Last season, Rabiot featured on 45 occasions for Juventus, including 32 outings in Serie A, but he is not in the club's plans for the 2022-23 campaign.

The midfielder made 227 appearances for PSG between 2012 and 2019, winning five Ligue 1 titles, four Coupe de France trophies and five Coupe de la Ligue crowns.

Rabiot has also been capped on 29 occasions by France, scoring twice, and he was involved in three of their four UEFA Nations League matches back in June.

His arrival would boost an area of the field that struggled last season, while Fred and Scott McTominay have also been heavily criticised for their performances in Sunday's 2-1 defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion.

Man United are still said to be pursuing Frenkie de Jong, but their move for Rabiot suggests that the club are preparing for the possibility of missing out on the Barcelona midfielder.

Head coach Ten Hag is also said to be determined to boost his attacking options for the 2022-23 campaign, but the club have allegedly decided against moving for Bologna's Marko Arnautovic.

The Red Devils had also been strongly linked with Red Bull Salzburg's Benjamin Sesko, but the highly-rated youngster will be joining RB Leipzig next summer.

Anthony Martial was in impressive form during pre-season, but the Frenchman missed out against Brighton on Sunday through injury and remains a doubt for Saturday's clash with Brentford.

As a result, Ten Hag could consider starting Ronaldo against the Bees, with the Portugal international featuring off the bench in the second half of the match with Graham Potter's side.

Man United are also thought to be considering moving for a new goalkeeper and right-back before the summer transfer window officially closes. body check tags ::
