Manchester United are reportedly fearful that Paul Pogba will run down his contract at Old Trafford before leaving on a free transfer next summer.
The 28-year-old was a key player for the Red Devils during the 2020-21 campaign, making 42 appearances in all competitions, contributing six goals and nine assists in the process.
Pogba's contract with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side is due to expire next June, though, meaning that he would be free to enter into discussions with foreign clubs next January over a free transfer.
According to ESPN, Man United are set to seek talks with the France international, as they are concerned that he will run down his deal at Old Trafford before leaving on a free.
The report claims that there is no confirmed interest from any major club in European football, but Real Madrid, Barcelona, Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain are keeping a close eye on developments in the event that he becomes available to sign on a pre-contract basis.
The World Cup winner, who is currently with his country preparing for this summer's European Championship, managed three goals and five assists in 26 Premier League outings in 2020-21. body check tags ::
