Manchester United have reportedly told Chelsea attacker Mason Mount that he is a priority for the 20-time English champions during this summer's transfer window.

The 24-year-old, who missed the end of the 2022-23 campaign following a pelvic operation, is widely expected to leave Stamford Bridge in the current market.

Arsenal and Liverpool are both believed to be keen on the England international, but Man United appear to have emerged as the favourites to secure his signature.

Mount has allegedly already come to an agreement with the Red Devils over personal terms, but the two clubs are still said to be some way apart when it comes to their valuations of the player.

Chelsea are thought to want £75m for the playmaker, but with his contract expiring next summer, Man United are not believed to be prepared to pay over £60m.

According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Erik ten Hag's side have made it clear to the Englishman that he is a priority target for the club this summer.

Mount is believed to be determined to move to Old Trafford, but Romano has said that it will be 'up to the clubs' to decide whether a compromise can be reached in terms of a transfer fee.

The attacker found it difficult to show his best form for Chelsea during the 2022-23 campaign, only managing three goals and contributing six assists in the process.

However, the Englishman has largely impressed since becoming a first-team player for the Blues in 2019, representing the club on 195 occasions, scoring 33 goals and registering 37 assists.

Mount had successful loan spells with Vitesse Arnhem and Derby County before being a key player for Chelsea at the start of the 2019-20 campaign.

Man United boss Ten Hag is believed to view Mount as the perfect player to operate as a midfielder in his 4-3-3 system alongside Casemiro and Bruno Fernandes due to his all-action style.

As well as the playmaker, the Red Devils are thought to be closing in on a deal for Napoli's Kim Min-jae, with the centre-back potentially arriving at the start of July.

However, it is currently unclear who Man United's number one target is at centre-forward, with Tottenham Hotspur's Harry Kane not expected to make the move to Old Trafford.

Napoli's Victor Osimhen and Eintracht Frankfurt's Randal Kolo Muani are currently being linked with moves to the club, in addition to Atalanta BC's Rasmus Hojlund. body check tags ::
