Manchester United have reportedly made a £40m bid for Napoli defender Faouzi Ghoulam.
Ghoulam, 27, joined Napoli from Saint-Etienne in 2013, and has made over 150 appearances for the Italian club since arriving in Naples.
According to Radio Kiss Kiss Naples, United have made an offer of £40m for the left-back with the view to completing a deal when the January transfer window opens for business.
However, the same report claims that Napoli are expected to reject the bid due to Ghoulam's importance to the club.
United have also been strongly linked with a move for Atletico Madrid defender Lucas Hernandez, and are said to have made a 'dizzying offer' for the France international.
United are back in action after the international break with a trip to Chelsea.
