Manchester United are willing to hand over £26m to prise Faouzi Ghoulam away from Napoli in the summer, according to a report.
The Algeria international, who has not featured for the Serie A side since early November due to a broken kneecap, is said to be among the Red Devils' top defensive targets.
Ghoulam operates at left-back - an area in which Jose Mourinho is keen to strengthen ahead of next season - and RMC Sport suggests that United are ready to pounce after recently opening talks.
United are reportedly hopeful of tying up a deal early in the window, or else they will look elsewhere for other possible options.
Former Saint-Etienne ace Ghoulam has made 151 appearances for Napoli and is under contract at the Stadio San Paolo until 2021.
