Manchester United have reportedly stepped up their pursuit of Rennes midfielder Eduardo Camavinga.
The France international will not turn 19 until November but has already featured on 82 occasions for his current club, contributing two goals and five assists in the process.
Camavinga's current deal with Les Rennais is due to expire next June, though, and it is thought that he will be on the move during this summer's transfer window.
A recent report claimed that Man United had met with the youngster's representatives to discuss a possible switch to Old Trafford ahead of next season.
According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, the 20-time English champions are now in direct contact over a deal for the Frenchman.
Romano claims that Rennes would be open to negotiate on their €30m (£25.7m) asking price, as the Ligue 1 outfit run the risk of losing him for free next summer.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side will seemingly face competition for the midfielder's signature, though, with Paris Saint-Germain also thought to be keen on a deal in the current market.
Man United have already agreed to sign Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund, while Real Madrid's Raphael Varane is believed to be the club's leading defensive target ahead of next season. body check tags ::
