Manchester United allegedly have no interest in signing winger Anwar El Ghazi on a free transfer.
The Red Devils went into the season with a wide array of wide players at their disposal, a result of Erik ten Hag choosing to keep younger players at Old Trafford.
However, a scenario has materialised where the likes of Alejandro Garnacho, Facundo Pellistri and Amad Diallo - when fit - could be in line for regular game time.
A falling out between Ten Hag and Jadon Sancho is expected to result in the England international being kept out of the first-team fold for the foreseeable future.
Meanwhile, allegations of domestic violence against Antony have led to United and the Brazil international reaching an agreement that he will step away from playing duties for the time being.
While United are still blessed with plenty of talent in the final third, Ten Hag may have to rethink his previous plans and use players more used to central areas on the flanks.
On Monday night, a report emerged that El Ghazi - formerly of Aston Villa and PSV Eindhoven - could emerge as an option for United due to his status as a free agent.
The Netherlands international was recently allowed to leave PSV, despite contributing nine goals and two assists from 33 appearances since the start of last season, while he has 15 goals and five assists from 73 outings in the Premier League.
Nevertheless, according to Laurie Whitwell of The Athletic, United have no interest in progressing with a deal for the 28-year-old.
El Ghazi is said to have been proposed to United by his agents, aware that there may be a window of opportunity to return to England's top flight.
Instead, Ten Hag is ready to place trust in the likes of Garnacho and Pellistri, rather than bring in an alternative from the outside for the short term.
There is also the option of using Mason Mount out wide once he has recovered from a hamstring injury, while Bruno Fernandes may also be considered.
United have begun the 2023-24 campaign by collecting six points from their opening four Premier League games, losing away at Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal respectively.
