Manchester United have reportedly entered into contract discussions with Paul Pogba's representatives, as the Red Devils attempt to sign the midfielder to a new long-term deal.

The France international was a regular at club level during the 2020-21 campaign, scoring six goals and contributing nine assists in 42 appearances in all competitions.

Pogba's current contract at Old Trafford is due to expire next June, though, and a recent report claimed that Man United were becoming increasingly fearful of losing the World Cup winner on a free transfer.

According to Sky Sports News, the 20-time English champions have now opened contract discussions with the 28-year-old in the hope of coming to an agreement.

Pogba, who is currently with the France squad preparing for the start of Euro 2020, is believed to be a long-term transfer target for Real Madrid and Juventus.

Meanwhile, it is thought that Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain are keeping a close eye on developments in the event that he becomes available on a free transfer next June.
