Manchester United are reportedly preparing to make an offer for Borussia Dortmund right-back Thomas Meunier.
Head coach Erik ten Hag is believed to be looking to sign five new players, including a right-back, in the final two weeks of the transfer window.
Diogo Dalot is Ten Hag's current first-choice right-back, with Aaron Wan-Bissaka falling down the pecking order at Old Trafford.
Three years after signing Wan-Bissaka for £50m, United are prepared to either loan or sell the 24-year-old who is not part of Ten Hag's plans.
The Daily Telegraph reports that Wan-Bissaka's former club Crystal Palace are willing to pay £10m for the right-back, which would see United take a huge £40m loss on the Englishman.
Wan-Bissaka began last season as the club's first-choice right-back, but he lost his place in the starting lineup to Dalot following the appointment of interim boss Ralf Rangnick and featured only eight times since the end of November last year.
The defender, who has two years remaining on his contract, has made a total of 126 appearances for United across all competitions and has contributed with 10 assists.
Palace are not the only club to have been linked with Wan-Bissaka, as he is believed to be one of several names on Barcelona's shortlist.
The Telegraph claims that the Red Devils are looking to replace Wan-Bissaka with Meunier and a fee of around €15m (£12.6m) has been proposed to Dortmund.
It currently remains unknown whether BVB would be prepared to sell the 30-year-old Belgium international, who has recorded three goals and seven assists in 62 games for the German giants since joining from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2020.
United could face competition from Barcelona for the signature of Meunier, who has two years remaining on his contract at Westfalenstadion.
It is thought that United favour a move for Meunier over a deal for Sergino Dest, who is valued at around £17m by Barca and is deemed surplus to requirements under head coach Xavi.
The likes of Southampton's Kyle Walker-Peters, Bayern Munich's Benjamin Pavard and Inter Milan's Denzel Dumfries have also been linked with a move to Old Trafford. body check tags ::
