Manchester United are reportedly prepared to consider certain offers for winger Antony during the January transfer window.
The Brazil international has just started his third season at Old Trafford having made an £86m switch from Ajax in the summer of 2022.
However, despite the anticipation that the 24-year-old would become a mainstay in the team under Erik ten Hag, it has proven to be the exact opposite.
Although Antony has 86 appearances in all competitions to his name, a considerable number of outings have come from the substitutes' bench.
Most notably, Ten Hag has barely handed any opportunities to the player this campaign with all but 49 minutes of his game time coming in the EFL Cup.
While more chances may materialise during a hectic period that features further games in that tournament and the Europa League, there is now an acceptance that Antony is at least fifth in the pecking order.
United to assess loan exit
According to Football Insider, club officials are prepared to accept certain loan proposals that are put forward in January.
The report says there is a desire to get Antony's wages off their outgoings as soon as possible, with United aware they will struggle to recoup any kind of fee in the short term.
With Antony's contract only running until 2027, United find themselves in somewhat of a predicament when it comes to minimalising the losses that they will make on the attacker.
Only 27 minutes of football have come in this season's Premier League, Antony contributing just five goals and three assists from his 56 appearances in the competition.
United would allegedly be prepared to include an option to buy should they receive notable interest at the turn of the year.
Who may be interested?
A recent report indicated that Ajax may be interested in securing a reunion with their former player, handing him a chance to recapture his form in the Eredivisie.
Newcastle United and Crystal Palace have also been credited with an interest, although it is questionable whether Antony would command a first-team role in either team.
Antony will be hoping for a start in the Europa League later this week when United square off against Turkish giants Fenerbahce. body check tags ::
