Manchester United reportedly had a scout in attendance for Torino's Serie A contest with Roma on Monday evening to watch the performance of Raoul Bellanova.
The 23-year-old started his professional career with Bordeaux, but he only made one first-team appearance for the club, spending time out on loan with Atalanta BC, Pescara and Cagliari.
Bellanova made a permanent move to Cagliari in 2022, but he spent the 2022-23 campaign on loan at Inter Milan, making 22 appearances for the club, including 18 outings in Serie A.
The right-back joined Torino last July, and he has been a vital player for the Italian club this season, making 27 appearances in all competitions, scoring once and providing five assists in the process.
According to Tuttosport, Man United sent a scout to watch Bellanova in action for Torino against Roma, with the Red Devils said to have been alerted to his performances during the 2023-24 campaign.
The former Italy Under-21s international played the full 90 minutes of Torino's 3-2 defeat, and he provided the assist for Duvan Zapata to make it 1-1 in the latter stages of the first period.
Aston Villa are also said to be keen on Bellanova, with their head coach Unai Emery thought to be pushing for his signature at the end of the 2023-24 campaign.
Torino have the full-back on a contract until June 2027, but they are unlikely to be in a position to reject a sizeable offer from the Premier League during this summer's transfer window.
Bellanova has largely spent this season operating as a right-sided wing-back, and he has scored once and provided three assists in his last six appearances in Italy's top flight.
Diogo Dalot is currently Man United's first-choice right-back, and the Portugal international has proved himself to be one of the team's most dependable performers this season.
However, Aaron Wan-Bissaka's future at Old Trafford is unclear, with the Englishman potentially leaving the club during this summer's transfer window.
Man United activated a 12-month extension in his contract earlier this year, but the decision was allegedly made to project his value ahead of the summer market.
Crystal Palace are believed to be interested in re-signing the 26-year-old, who has only made 17 appearances for the Red Devils during the 2023-24 campaign due to fitness problems. body check tags ::
