Manchester United could reportedly go head to head with Real Madrid for the signature of Real Valladolid defender Mohammed Salisu during this summer's transfer window.
The 20-year-old has broken into the Valladolid first team during the 2019-20 campaign, making 24 appearances in all competitions, including 23 in Spain's top flight.
According to AS, Real Madrid are determined to sign the Ghanian at the end of the season, but United are also interested in a summer deal and could submit an offer once the window re-opens.
Salisu has a contract with his La Liga club until the summer of 2022, although it is alleged that there is a £10m release clause in the current agreement.
The defender, who joined Valladolid from the African Talent Football Academy in 2017, made his debut for the White and Violets in the early stages of 2019.
United broke the transfer record for a centre-back when they signed Harry Maguire last summer, but the Red Devils are reportedly still looking to improve their defence ahead of next season.
Valencia and Atletico Madrid are also both being credited with an interest in Salisu.
