Manchester United are reportedly considering launching a £70m bid for West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice when the January transfer window opens for business.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side failed to improve their midfield options during the summer despite being linked with the likes of Bruno Fernandes and Sean Longstaff ahead of the 2019-20 campaign.
Paul Pogba's recent injury troubles have only further increased United's problems in the middle of the park, and the club are believed to be considering opening their chequebook at the start of 2020.
According to The Mirror, the Red Devils are closely monitoring Rice's form as they weigh up a potential £70m swoop at the mid-point of the season.
The 20-year-old has not missed a single minute of West Ham's 2019-20 Premier League campaign, while he has also developed into a key player for the English national team.
United also reportedly have a verbal agreement with Mario Mandzukic that the Juventus forward will make the move to Old Trafford during the January transfer window.
