Manchester United have reportedly altered their approach for Harry Maguire by offering Andreas Pereira in exchange.
The Red Devils have prioritised a move for the England international to bolster their defensive ranks ahead of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's first full season in charge.
Leicester value Maguire between £80m and £90m, however, which would make him the most expensive defender in the world should a transfer go through.
According to The Sun, though, United will consider offloading one of their fringe players to help sweeten the deal, with Pereira being deemed surplus to requirements.
United hope that Leicester will then lower their asking price for Maguire, making him a more affordable option.
City boss Brendan Rodgers is rumoured to have tried signing Pereira during his time in charge of Celtic.
