Manchester United are reportedly looking to re-sign Cristiano Ronaldo this summer, now that they have all but secured Champions League qualification for next season.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side came from behind to win 3-1 at top-four rivals Tottenham Hotspur last weekend and are now nine points clear of Chelsea in fifth with seven games left to play.
According to Calciomercato, United will use any extra money made available from top-four qualification to try to convince Ronaldo to return to Old Trafford, 11 years after leaving to join Real Madrid for a world-record fee.
Any potential deal could also involve midfielder Paul Pogba going in the opposite direction and signing for Juventus.
Pogba's agent Mino Raiola announced last year that his client was unhappy at Old Trafford and was looking to leave, however it is not yet clear as to whether the Frenchman still wants to leave at the end of the season or whether he will commit himself to the Red Devils.
Despite scoring 25 Serie A goals in 27 appearances, Ronaldo's hopes of helping Juventus secure their 10th successive league title are now unlikely, as Inter Milan are 12 points ahead of them with eight matches left to play. body check tags ::
