Manchester United are reportedly contemplating an approach for Juventus midfielder Emre Can during the January transfer window.
Despite having been at the Serie A champions for little more than a year, Can has already fallen down the pecking order, leading to suggestions that he could be sold at the midway point of the campaign.
Earlier this week, it was claimed that Can is open to a switch to Old Trafford, despite having previously represented United's fierce rivals Liverpool.
According to Sky Sports News, United are equally willing to agree a deal with the Germany international later in the season.
Having failed to replace Ander Herrera, who left for Paris Saint-Germain in the summer, United are lacking proven Premier League quality in the middle of the pitch.
During his four years on Merseyside, Can made a total of 101 starts and 14 substitute outings in England's top flight, scoring 10 goals.
