Manchester United reportedly ended their efforts to secure a deal for Hakim Ziyech in order to focus on trying to sign Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho.
Earlier on Thursday, Chelsea and Ajax announced that Ziyech will make the switch to Stamford Bridge during the summer transfer window.
However, according to the Evening Standard, United also held an interest in the Morocco international, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer eager to strengthen in the final third.
Instead, the report claims that the Norwegian called off any plans to move for Ziyech to prioritise an approach for Sancho.
On Wednesday, it was reported that the England international would like to make the switch to Old Trafford ahead of the beginning of next season.
United are expected to have to pay in excess of £100m to win the race for the 19-year-old's signature.
