Manchester United reportedly have no plans to prioritise the addition of a new centre-back before the end of the summer transfer window.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer watched his side succumb to a 3-1 defeat at home to Crystal Palace on Saturday evening, the final goal coming after Victor Lindelof was easily held off by goalscorer Wilfried Zaha.
The manner in which United conceded that strike has led to widespread calls for a fresh face to be added in that department before October 5.
However, according to The Athletic, Solskjaer and club officials are instead prepared to focus their attention on a left-back and right-sided winger.
Speculation persists that United are looking to sign Porto's attack-minded defender Alex Telles and Borussia Dortmund's Jadon Sancho.
With Chris Smalling expected to return to Roma, Eric Bailly, Axel Tuanzebe and Marcos Rojo are currently in line to provide competition to Lindelof and Harry Maguire.
