Manchester United have reportedly opened talks with Wissam Ben Yedder's agent over a potential summer deal for the forward.
The Monaco frontman enjoyed a stellar Ligue 1 campaign before the season was curtailed amid the coronavirus pandemic, as the 29-year-old bagged 18 goals to share the top scorer accolade with Paris Saint-Germain's Kylian Mbappe.
Odion Ighalo recently extended his loan deal at Old Trafford ahead of the Premier League's resumption on June 17, but United are said to be hopeful of landing a new striker in time for the start of the 2020-21 campaign.
According to Le 10 Sport, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side have made contact with Ben Yedder's agent as they look to strike a deal for the former Sevilla man.
The report claims that Monaco have accepted that the forward is likely to seek out a new club after the Ligue 1 outfit failed to secure a European spot, and Monaco would be willing to part ways with the Frenchman for a fee of £35.6m.
United have supposedly also made contact with the representatives of Valencia's Ferran Torres as they look ahead to next season.
