Manchester United have reportedly made an official bid for 16-year-old Mallorca forward Toni Quetglas.
Quetglas came through the ranks at Barcelona's famed La Masia academy before moving on to Mallorca, where his performances have attracted interest from around Europe.
Spanish outlet AS reports that United have attempted to steal a march on their transfer rivals by making an offer to the youngster's representatives.
Quetglas does not currently have a permanent contract with Mallorca, meaning that United would likely only need to pay a compensation fee if they complete a deal.
However, the Red Devils could face competition for his signature from Chelsea and Ajax, both of whom are also understood to be keeping tabs on the Spaniard.
