Manchester United will reportedly prioritise the signing of Dayot Upamecano after completing a deal for Ajax midfielder Donny van de Beek.
Van de Beek is undergoing a medical ahead of a £35.8m switch to Old Trafford, having agreed a five-year deal with the Red Devils.
Confirmation of that transfer is expected soon, and ESPN reports that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will then switch his focus to completing a deal for RB Leipzig defender Upamecano.
The 21-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League in the past but recently signed a new contract, with his old one due to expire next summer.
Reports in Germany claim that Upamecano's new deal contains a release clause of €42m (£37.5m), but that only becomes valid at the end of next season.
Solskjaer is hopeful of pushing a deal through this summer, though, as he looks to partner Upamecano with Harry Maguire.
United have also been linked with a big-money move for Jadon Sancho, although they remain significantly short of Borussia Dortmund's asking price for the England international.
