Manchester United have made preparations to make one final attempt to sign Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Ruben Neves this summer, according to a report.
The Portugal international has been heavily linked with a move away from Molineux in the upcoming transfer window after refusing to extend his current deal with the West Midlands side, which expires in June 2024.
United are said to have held an interest in the 25-year-old since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's reign, and new boss Erik ten Hag is also said to be a huge admirer of the midfielder.
The Red Devils reportedly saw a move for Neves turned down in January, but they will look to make one last push to complete a deal in the coming weeks according to The Sun.
The report suggests that Wolves are demanding a fee of around £50m for Neves, who is also attracting interest from La Liga outfit Barcelona too.
Ten Hag will be pushing to keep Neves in the Premier League though, with the Dutchman said to view him as United's primary target for central midfield reinforcements this summer, with Paul Pogba likely to vacate that area of the field with an expected departure upon the expiration of his contract in June.
Neves has scored 24 goals in 212 appearances for Wolves across all competitions since making the move to England for around £16m from Porto in 2017. body check tags ::
