Manchester United have reportedly turned down the chance to sign Mauro Icardi or Radja Nainggolan as part of a deal to take Romelu Lukaku to Inter Milan.
Lukaku is new Inter manager Antonio Conte's number one transfer target this summer, but talks with United have stalled due to their £75m asking price.
Inter are unable to meet that valuation without selling a player to raise funds first, and La Repubblica reports that they offered one as part of the deal in order to get around the issue.
However, United have told them that they want the full transfer fee to be paid and that they will not entertain the idea of having either Icardi or Nainggolan included as a makeweight.
Lukaku is understood to favour a move to the San Siro, although other reports have also claimed that he has been offered to both Juventus and Napoli.
The Belgium international scored 15 goals in 45 games for United last season and is currently with his teammates in Australia for the start of their pre-season tour.
