Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has reportedly decided against trying to sign Angel di Maria, despite the Argentine's desire to leave Real Madrid this summer.
Yesterday, Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti confirmed that the 26-year-old wants to be sold.
Paris Saint-Germain have also been heavily linked with Di Maria, but manager Laurent Blanc has ruled out the possibility of signing the player due to their Financial Fair Play restrictions.
The French club's stance seemed to pave the way for United to clinch a deal, but according to The Express, Van Gaal does not want to hamper Adnan Januzaj's development by bringing in Di Maria.
The Argentine would reportedly carry a price tag of around £40m, which United are said to be reluctant to meet.
The North-West outfit have signed midfielder Ander Herrera, left-back Luke Shaw and defender Marcos Rojo so far this summer.
