Manchester City are reportedly confident of signing Napoli centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly during this summer's transfer window.
The Citizens have already improved their defence ahead of the 2020-21 campaign with the signing of Nathan Ake but continue to be linked with Koulibaly.
According to The Athletic, Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis is 'playing hardball' when it comes to the Senegal international, who has also previously been linked with Manchester United and Chelsea.
However, the report claims that Pep Guardiola's side 'are confident' that they will find an agreement with the Italian outfit for the transfer of the powerful defender.
The 29-year-old has a contract in Naples until June 2023 and various publications in Italy have suggested that his Serie A club value him in the region of £90m.
De Laurentiis recently insisted that Koulibaly would not be allowed to leave during this summer's transfer window unless a "great offer" arrived.
