Manchester United have reportedly agreed personal terms with Adrien Rabiot, with the club now on the verge of securing a deal for the Juventus midfielder.

The Red Devils are believed to have come to an agreement with Juventus relatively quickly in terms of a transfer fee, which is thought to be in the region of £15m.

There had allegedly been some issues in the discussions over wages, with Rabiot's mother and agent, Veronique Rabiot, said to be looking to secure a huge pay increase from the midfielder's Old Lady contract.

Man United football director John Murtough was recently pictured in Turin, with the two parties holding face-to-face talks, and it is understood that an agreement over personal terms has now been reached.

According to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, there is "a total agreement" between the 20-time English champions and Rabiot's mother, with a deal now close to going through.

"Manchester United have reached a total agreement with Adrien Rabiot's mother, Veronique, on personal terms," said Tavolieri.

"And in the opposite way, As Juventus was waiting for an agreement between Rabiot and Manchester United, transfer of Leandro Paredes to Juventus should also experience rapid progress. The problem of commissions due to the mother of Rabiot, which took time in the discussions, now settled."

Man United's move for Rabiot is not believed to be related to Frenkie de Jong's future, with the Red Devils also still hoping to sign the Barcelona midfielder before the end of the transfer window.

The club are expected to be active in the final weeks of the transfer window, with a new striker expected to arrive, but Cristiano Ronaldo is set to remain despite the widespread speculation surrounding his future.

Man United are currently bottom of the Premier League table, having lost to Brighton & Hove Albion and Brentford in their opening two matches of the 2022-23 campaign.

Rabiot featured on 45 occasions for Juventus last season, including 32 outings in Serie A, but he is not in the club's plans for the 2022-23 campaign.

The midfielder came through the youth system at Paris Saint-Germain, representing the club on 227 occasions between 2012 and 2019, winning five Ligue 1 titles, four Coupe de France trophies and five Coupe de la Ligue crowns during a successful spell.

Meanwhile, he has made 129 appearances during his three seasons at Juventus, winning Serie A and the Coppa Italia, since making the move to the Old Lady on a free transfer.

Rabiot could be confirmed as a Man United player next week, which would put him in contention to make his debut for the club in the team's next Premier League match with Liverpool on August 22. body check tags ::
