Manchester United are reportedly considering a move for Paris Saint-Germain forward Edinson Cavani following the news that Marcus Rashford could be out of action for the next few months.
Rashford picked up a double stress fracture in his back against Wolverhampton Wanderers in the FA Cup earlier this month.
According to The Telegraph, United have been offered the chance to sign Cavani this month and are now exploring the option tentatively.
The report adds that the club do not want a repeat of the Alexis Sanchez situation where they signed the Chilean from Arsenal past his prime.
The Uruguayan forward is now 32 and has been displaced in the PSG team by Mauro Icardi.
Atletico Madrid and Chelsea are also thought to be interested in the former Napoli striker, who is said to have asked to leave PSG.
