Manchester United are reportedly ready to launch a bid for Torino defender Angelo Ogbonna.
Sir Alex Ferguson is looking for a long-term successor to Rio Ferdinand and has eyed the 24-year-old as the ideal candidate, according to The Mirror.
Ferguson has Chris Smalling, Phil Jones and Johnny Evans as cover for the centre of defence, but could make his move for the Italian at the end of the season.
Ogbonna was part of the Italy squad that finished runners-up in Euro 2012.
