Manchester United will reportedly target Everton midfielder Idrissa Gueye in this summer's transfer window.
Ander Herrera confirmed on Saturday that he would be leaving the Red Devils on a free transfer at the end of the season, while Paul Pogba continues to be linked with a move away from the club.
The Red Devils also did not replace Marouane Fellaini in January, meaning that the English giants are expected to sign at least one central midfielder ahead of the 2019-20 campaign.
Gueye was strongly linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain during the January transfer window, but according to the Daily Mail, United are also 'circling' with a £40m bid expected to arrive.
The same report has claimed that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side have 'made their intentions clear' when it comes to the Senegal international, who has appeared on 32 occasions in the Premier League this term.
United are also believed to be nearing a £15m swoop for Swansea City attacker Daniel James.
